Reviews from Directors

Nicola Gardner first came to my attention in Manchester Library Theatre’s dynamic production, ‘A Caribbean Abroad’. She gave a commanding performance and brought warmth, intelligence and humour to the central role of this hard-hitting play. I was naturally keen to cast her as soon as possible and thought of her immediately for the role of Anne Finn in BBC TV’s gritty police drama, ‘Merseybeat’. She was, quite simply, Brilliant!

Adrian Bean, Director – Casualty, Holby City, Doctors, Eastenders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale & Heartbeat, winner of the Royal Television Society Award

I have employed Nicola as an actress in many of my productions including ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ first shown at the Green Room Theatre. Nicola Gardner is an outstanding luminary actress of extraordinary ability. She has remarkable stage presence and her command of an audience is masterly.

Andy Burke, Producer & Director, Black Arts Development Productions

I chose Nicola to play the part of Joyce in ‘A Caribbean Abroad’ The part required an actress of superior talent.

I believe Nicola Gardner is an actress of great ability.

Wyllie Longmore, Director ‘A Caribbean Abroad’, Former Head of Acting – Arden Theatre School, Actor ‘Love Actually’

I cast Nicola in the pivotal role of Lena Younger for a production of 'A Raisin in the Sun' at the acclaimed Green Room Theatre, Manchester. Nicola has a wonderful talent for total immersion in a role. She is committed, resourceful, imaginative and creative.

Helen Parry, Director – Beat Productions, Acting Tutor – Arden School of Theatre & ALRA (NW)
